Summary The Windows 2000 series is a graphical OS, primarily designed for corporate workstations and servers. Windows 2000 advanced server is the follow on to Windows NT server, and adds FAT32 support, improved stability, broader range of device drivers including USB and IEEE 1394 support. For network environments, Active Directory was added to improve manageability and security. This server edition also integrates Microsoft BackOffice.

Windows 2000 support and updates ended on July 13, 2010.

Interface Windows 2000 advanced server provides a GUI interface. It does supports a text-based DOS window while Windows is running.
Installation Can be installed in its own primary partition on the first drive. When installing to any other partition( (logical or primary) on any drive, a small portion must be installed in a bootable FAT or FAT32 primary partition on the first drive.
